Part 26: Episode 2, Day 2, Investigation: Enter the Interlogue
Part 26: Episode 2, Day 2, Investigation: Enter the Interlogue
We reconvene outside the courtroom. It's currently mid-afternoon. We have until tomorrow morning to figure out everything we can about the man with Miss May.
Music: Courtroom Lobby ~ Beginning Overture

Phoenix was making intuitive leaps and deductions all over the place in there, even without our help. A big step up from the last episode.

Hey now.

Is she describing Edgeworth or a puppy?

The only evidence left against Maya is a suspiciously convenient bloody note and an eyewitness account from an individual who now has less than zero credibility. You'd think Maya could at least be out on bail now.

I smell another investigation phase coming.

Our first new piece of evidence is a freebie. Assuming this line of testimony is really trustworthy.

I've taken almost a thousand screenshots of this episode already, and we've completed a day of investigation and a day of trial, about to enter a second day of investigation with (at least) a second day of trial looming. This second episode is already way longer than I anticipated.
Music: Jingle - It Can't End Here

Might as well save while we're here.

I could have stopped there, but it would've been a pretty short update. Let's at least grab the initial scenes for the second day of investigations.

She's in a better mood than I would have expected.

Maybe she's not all that upset and will just give up her partner now.

Uhhh never mind.

Music: Happy People

This game might be the first investigation/courtroom one I've played that has additional investigation sequences in between courtroom sequences. Definitely adds a lot more potential for the narrative this way. I'm surprised it's already happening in the first real episode.

This guard still hasn't moved since yesterday, but he gets one more line about him today.

Let's see if we can get Miss May talking.

She's going to stand by her man, whoever the guy is. If this were a Matlock episode, I'd say we have to find proof of him cheating on her to get her to open up and throw him under the bus.

Uh, we just got her arrested, duh.

Well conversation was a dead-end. Unfortunately all our evidence currently has no use, either.

While going through the evidence again, I noticed that the diagram of the crime scene has an option to examine it in more detail. I guess the lit-up parts are what would be visible from Miss May's point of view? Between this diagram, the evidence we got with Miss May's testimony, and the glass shards we've had from the beginning, I suspect that court tomorrow is going to focus on the physical elements of the crime.

If I look at the diagram above, and the description here. Mia dodged an attack and ran to the right. During that dodge, the killer must've impacted the light stand, causing the glass fragments to go everywhere. That's why some of the fragments were under Mia's body at the crime scene.

Miss May's profile has been updated to reflect the new information we have on her.

Likewise the bellboy has some more detail in his profile.

We can go visit anywhere we like again. The hotel seems like the most likely place to look for information about the man staying with Miss May. The crime scene could offer some new insight into how the attack itself unfolded. And maybe Grossberg will be willing to help now that we've dug into the case a bit more? Take your pick.
